Copper Island Wins Built Green™ Award

Copper Island Fine Homes was a recent recipient of yet another prestigious honour from the Canadian Home Builders' Association (CHBA) Central Interior annual Keystone Home Builder Awards of Excellence. One of our recently constructed homes was awarded the silver medal for the Best Built Green™ BC Builder of the Year.
The Best Built Green™ BC Builder of the Year was judged on leadership demonstrated in energy efficiency. Specific criteria included the energy efficiency rating of the home, innovative and functional exterior design solutions, architectural character, environmental considerations including innovative use of technology, energy efficiency (i.e.: R-2000, PowerSmart, Low-e glass, etc), integration of the project into its natural setting, economic & site restraints, exciting new features or innovations, careful or innovative detailing, unique interior design solutions, creative use of space, functionality of floor plan, and use of EnerGuide rated appliances.
The Canadian Home Builders' Association of Central Interior Home Builder Awards of Excellence (Keystone Awards) have been established to recognize and honour excellence in the home building sector in the Central Interior District of BC. Entries are scrutinized by a distinguished panel of highly qualified judges from outside the BC Interior region, who are selected for their expertise in their field. An Accounting Firm chosen by CHBA Central Interior monitors the judging process. The Keystone Awards are an opportunity for Copper Island Fine Homes to test how good we are, strive for continual improvement, raise the bar for local builders, and demonstrate our commitment to excellence.
In recent years, Copper Island Fine Homes has achieved several prestigious Keystone Awards:
- 2009 Gold for Best Interior Design
- 2009 Silver for Best Residential Renovation Valued between $75,000 & $199,999
- 2009 Silver for Best Single Family Detached Home (between 1,500 and 1,999 sq ft)
- 2008 Gold and 2009 Silver for Customer Choice Awards, presented to the CHBA CI member company/contractor that has shown the greatest contribution or service to the industry/customers as determined by the homebuyers who purchased a home from the participating builder within the time frame, through a printed confidential survey.
