We’re closing in on the home stretch with an exquisite, energy efficient lakefront home in Eagle Bay that we started last winter.
When we say energy efficient, we truly mean it: our clients, who are moving here from overseas, have asked us to build one of the most incredibly technologically-advanced home that we’ve ever had the privilege of building. It’s an opportunity for us to once again apply much of our hard-won green building knowledge, as more and more new home owners are concerned about self-sufficiency in the future.
High efficiency windows, geothermal heating, heat recovery ventilation, and solar power are just some of the innovative features of this home.
Outside, we now have the entire home scaffolded in order to complete the HardiPlank siding and soffiting. A state-of-the-art water system with new lake pump and pressure tank are now operational, and septic tank and field are currently being completed. Our masonry trades are currently installing Brown Rundle Ledgestone on feature walls and pillars, and deck phantom screen track panels have been integrated into the stone pillars for future seamless install on the upper and rear deck portions.
Inside, we’re working hard to complete flooring, plumbing finishing, base and case, and a stunning main floor living room ceiling wood feature. The first round of interior painting is complete, with our painters now starting the second round with spray-painted trims and second coat for wall colours.
Hard work and superb commitment from our staff and sub-trades have allowed us to make up for a couple of lost weeks due to harsh conditions in the winter and spring. We’re now confident that we’ll achieve the occupancy date set for early November.
A final note: we’re told that this is an amazing homesite viewed from the lake, as confirmed by the many “oohs and aahs” from boaters who pass by each day!
