One of our biggests concerns as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded was losing efficiency and not being able to maintain our building schedule while implementing policies and procedures aimed at keeping our staff, trades and clients safe and healthy. Surprisingly, we haven’t faltered at all, with one of our current projects, a beautiful lake view home we’re constructing in MacArthur Heights, providing a perfect example.
We’re actually ahead of schedule on this project. Soffits and gutters are now complete, and the septic system has been installed and is ready for use. Inside, we’re drywalling as we speak (see photo below), and all other trades including our painter are lined up, ready to get into the home as soon as possible.
Much of the planning and purchasing has also been done, with all interior doors, lights and trims on order. Cabinets are in production and installation will take place later this month. We also have flooring scheduled to begin in a couple of weeks time, about the same time we start the exterior finishing.
Who gets the credit for the on-time performance? We think everyone involved can take a bow. Our staff have been extremely flexible during these difficult times, and so have our valued sub-trades and our outstanding suppliers. Our clients have also been exceptional and have excelled at completing their design and finishing selections using, in many cases, online shopping. In short, everyone has adapted quickly to our new reality.
The home offers outstanding lake views to the west, and our clients are genuinely excited at the prospect of calling the Shuswap home when they take possession later this summer.
