As we finish up several waterfront projects, we're also hard at work framing two new beautiful view homes in the Highlands subdivision of Shuswap Lake Estates. The photos below show you the excellent progress we're making at the most advanced of these two new builds, a walk-out basement rancher with a standalone garage.
In the left photo below, you can see the underslab plumbing completely finished, and ready for preparation for pouring the basement slab. We'd like to point out the method that we choose to prepare for a slab pour -- using drain rock as the substrate. Our experience, and our engineers confirm this, is that no other material provides such a stable foundation for concrete. And it makes the plumbers' work that much easier as they design and install their underslab drains.
The second photo shows the project a few days later. Our framing subcontractor for this project, Madera Construction, has completed the basement framing and main level subfloor installation. This coming week, they'll be moving onto the main floor walls and roof truss installation. Meanwhile, our plumbing, electrical and HVAC subcontractors are standing by -- they'll move into the project as soon as the framing is completed.
The photo also gives you a sense of the magnificient views of the golf course, Blind Bay, the lake, and the North Shore mountains that the new owners will be enjoying by year's end.
