"We have taken possession of a very well-designed, well-built and elegant looking home inside and out. Greg and his team made a normally stressful experience enjoyable and dare I even say 'fun', from the design process through the build...The build was done on time and on budget with the exception of our changes, and to a standard that we would expect with a quality builder...Having the experience we have had over the last year, we are confident that, should we have any issues going forward, Copper Island will address them with professionalism and integrity."

    The Copper Island Advantage

Copper Island Fine Homes is the South and North Shuswap's leading builder of custom homes, and offers a wide range of other construction services. Here are ten solid reasons why you should work with Copper Island Fine Homes on your new home or renovation project.

    1. We are a proud member of the Canadian Home Builder’s Association (CHBA). As such, we adhere to a Code of Ethics and have committed our company to annual certification and education programs. We are the only Shuswap builder certified by the Canadian Home Builder’s Association through their two-year Registered Home Professional, Licensed Residential Builder, Renovator and Built Green Builder programs and are a Certified Energy Star Builder.

    2. We are the only builder in the Shuswap that's been recognized multiple times for excellence at the annual Central Interior CHBA Keystone Home Builder Awards. Since 2008, we've won numerous awards, including Gold awards for Best Customer Service, Customer Choice, Interior Design, Detached Home and Renovation. Most recently, during the 2020 Keystone Awards, we were awarded Gold for for Best Customer Service, Gold for Best Home $1.5M to $3M, and Gold for Most Unique Design.

    3. We believe in building your home on budget. We deliver on our promise by basing every project on a detailed quote using our internet-based estimating application. Your home, one of the largest investments you may ever make, will be priced accurately from the outset with the goal of meeting your budget without surprises or extras. It's important to note, however, that in recent years, our industry has seen sometimes significant supply and labour price increases that reflect our highly inflationary economic reality. We have seen that prices for some types of products have risen in very short periods of time due to supply chain issues, and these days, this does occur in the midst of a project. In these cases, we will do our very best to mitigate the challenges these pose for our clients.

    4. Design is an integral part of our construction process, and we are pleased to have ongoing professional relationships with four highly experienced interior designers/decorators. Our affiliated designers, as well as our entire team, are dedicated to supporting you throughout the construction process. Building and finishing a home requires difficult choices, and we're there to provide expert advice from start to finish.

    5. Our clients live busy lives often at a distance from the Shuswap. We stay in constant contact using a web-based project management application to provide clients with access to construction photos, updates, meeting notes, plan alterations, construction schedules, time frames and real-time financial information.

    6. In addition to welcoming building Inspections in this part of the Shuswap, we adhere to our own unique 80 page in-house Quality Control and Inspection Manual and provide photo documentation for each stage of construction. Our full time project managers and licensed journeyman carpenters are in the field to ensure your home is built to proper standards, on time and within budget.

    7. To ensure our clients continue to feel satisfied with our service, we adhere to very specific customer service and warranty procedures and have a dedicated staff member to oversee customer service and warranty support.

    8. During construction, we adhere to very specific industry documented residential construction performance guidelines, as well as our own unique series of sub trade performance expectations.

    9. The mountainous terrain of the Shuswap can be challenging to build on. That's why we begin every project with a professional Site Survey and use this information to calculate realistic construction costs and site layout well in advance of construction.

    10. To maintain our quality control and customer service standards, we limit the number of homes we build each year and the area within which we build to Blind Bay, Cedar Heights, Sorrento, Notch Hill, Tappen, White Lake, MacArthur Heights, Eagle Bay, the North Shore,Salmon Arm and Sicamous.
